Stratton, 29, has appeared in parts of four MLB seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta.

He holds a career 3.75 ERA and a 3.98 FIP over 69.2 innings pitched.

During his time with Atlanta, Stratton posted a 2.08 ERA in more than 17 innings.

He showed a strong ability to induce ground balls and stranded 87.9% of inherited runners, despite a modest strikeout rate.

The Braves also selected right-handed pitcher Carlos Carrasco to the major league roster and optioned right-hander Anthony Molina to Triple-A Gwinnett.

To free a 40-man spot, the team transferred starting pitcher Spencer Strider to the 60-day injured list due to an elbow injury that will keep him from throwing for four weeks.

Additionally, Atlanta selected catcher Jair Camargo to the major league roster, optioned him to Gwinnett, and named him the 27th man for the second game of a doubleheader.
