Fans recently gathered at Hudson River Park to witness Brazil secure a dominant 3-0 victory over Scotland.

Supporters dressed in traditional yellow celebrated the moment against the backdrop of a setting sun.

The city has transformed into a multicultural meeting point.

Chanting German fans and flag-waving Ecuadorian crowds have occupied Times Square, creating an atmosphere comparable to previous tournament hosts.

Local residents have noticed the sudden surge in soccer enthusiasm across the boroughs. Sport culture in the city remains exceptionally high following recent major championship celebrations.

"It's great going to Times Square and seeing all the fans," said George Crabtree from Brooklyn.

Christian Parelli, a schoolteacher from New Jersey, expressed his excitement regarding the sudden sports boom. He noted how the city is actively waking up to the global game.

"It's cool to see the soccer excitement," he said. "It's a really good time for sport with the Stanley Cup, the Knicks and the World Cup."

Many residents credit the high levels of local engagement directly to the active leadership of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who is a dedicated soccer enthusiast himself.

"It feels like [it has] especially with [New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani's] involvement, being a host for people," said Aditya Shetty, who works in IT.
