Tottenham Hotspur has finalized a club-record £85 million deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to multiple sources.
The 21-year-old Portugal international is set to become the fifth summer signing for manager Roberto de Zerbi.
The guaranteed fee surpasses Tottenham's previous record of £65 million for Dominic Solanke in 2024.
Fernandes joined West Ham from Southampton for £38 million, with a clause awarding Southampton 15 percent of this transfer.

Manchester United withdrew from the race because decision-makers refused to exceed their internal valuation.
BBC reported that United also doubted the midfielder's commitment to moving to Old Trafford, as he never explicitly revealed a club preference during negotiations.
Fernandes recorded four goals and four assists in 38 appearances last season despite West Ham's relegation. He is scheduled to undergo medical examinations to complete the transfer.
