Lloyds Banking Group announced on July 1, 2026, that it will transition all Halifax customer accounts and broker operations to the Lloyds banner by early 2027, simplifying its financial portfolio.

The multi-phase restructuring plan targets both high street retail branches and the group's extensive mortgage intermediary network, eventually creating the largest unified intermediary mortgage business in the United Kingdom.

As part of the operational shift, brokers will secure access to the Lloyds Premier Current Account mortgage discount on Halifax mortgages starting July 7, 2026, allowing them to write product transfer business from existing Lloyds customers for the first time.

The banking group also committed to maintaining a 24-hour document review turnaround time with instant escalation protocols alongside the structural consolidation.

Broker Partnership Strengthened

Managing Director of Intermediaries at Lloyds Banking Group Esther Dijkstra emphasized the long-term strategic direction of the corporate alignment for external brokers.

"Brokers play a vital role in helping customers navigate some of life’s most important financial decisions, and we are showing how important we see that partnership with today’s announcement," said Dijkstra.

The restructuring includes a subsequent rebranding of BM Solutions to Lloyds Intermediaries at an unconfirmed future date to finalize the single broker-facing brand structure.

"With no change to our BDMs or the support we provide, it is business as usual.

We’ve listened to feedback and are making Lloyds Premier discounts available, and from 7 July brokers can access these on Halifax mortgages," Dijkstra said.
