The Toronto Maple Leafs signed unrestricted free agent winger Jack Roslovic to a two-year contract worth $8 million as NHL free agency opened on July 1, 2026, according to league insider Elliotte Friedman.
The agreement provides Roslovic with a $4 million average annual value, satisfying the 29-year-old forward's goal of securing a multi-year deal after playing on consecutive single-year contracts to rebuild his market valuation.

Friedman broke the news on the social media platform X, writing: "Hearing Jack Roslovic to Toronto. 2 x $4M."
Depth-Focused Strategy
The signing aligns with the offseason strategy outlined by Toronto management, who targeted middle-six depth and secondary scoring rather than high-end stars ahead of the player selection draft.
"It is depth, for the most part.
There are a few holes we have, but we are going to be really focused on the depth early and see if we can round out the roster," said Maple Leafs General Manager John Chayka.
"Again, there are some bigger swings we’ll take and look at some things, but ultimately, it is a two-sided marketplace.
There are some smart agents out there who are trying to maximize the value for their players as well.
We are going to be disciplined in the marketplace and make sure we do our best to make the team the best possible."

Roslovic joins Toronto following a season with the Edmonton Oilers where he registered 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points across 69 games, rebounding from a delayed signing period the previous autumn.
