British actress Lisa Faulkner has revealed that a routine National Health Service screening led to an early-stage breast cancer diagnosis.
The 54-year-old star of Holby City and EastEnders underwent major surgery two weeks ago to remove the cancerous tissue.

On Tuesday, Faulkner shared the news with her 372,000 Instagram followers, stating that medical professionals have given her the all-clear following the procedure.
She will require further preventative care, including radiotherapy, in the coming weeks.
"I've had to have surgery because I've had the very early stages of breast cancer," Faulkner said.
She described the operation as substantial but successful, adding, "It's all good, and I've had my results back, and they've got everything out, and so it's all clear."
The actress emphasized that her recovery is ongoing but she is feeling much better.

"I've still got quite a bit of healing to do, but I'm good, I'm well, and feeling so much better," she said.
Faulkner strongly advocated for regular medical check-ups, noting that the illness would have remained undetected without the routine mammogram.
"I am so grateful that I went for my mammogram," she said.
"Don't put them off, go, because they found this, and without that mammogram, it wouldn't have been picked up."
The health update comes after a period of public attention for Faulkner, who married former MasterChef presenter John Torode in 2019.

Torode was dismissed from the cooking program last year following an investigation into co-presenter Gregg Wallace that upheld allegations of offensive language.
