Dolan officially stepped back from day-to-day responsibilities with the New York Rangers on Friday, July 3, 2026, naming his son Quentin Dolan as the franchise's new President, Chief Operating Officer, and Alternate Governor.

The 32-year-old Quentin Dolan will manage day-to-day ownership operations for both the Rangers and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, according to reports from nhl.
com and Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Under the new executive structure, Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury will report directly to Quentin Dolan while maintaining full authority over hockey operations and personnel decisions.
The administrative restructuring follows a period where Quentin Dolan established the player performance and science infrastructure across MSG Sports properties since joining the company in 2022.
The executive transition arrives as the Rangers attempt to break a two-season postseason drought, following an aggressive offseason strategy by Drury that included acquiring Pavel Dorofeyev, Marcus Pettersson, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Joe Veleno.
Confidence in the Transition
MSG Sports Executive Chairman and CEO James L. Dolan expressed strong confidence in the transition, highlighting his son's recent executive contributions across multiple sports properties.
