Ajax opens its preseason campaign with a friendly match against Panathinaikos on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

This match marks the unofficial debut of head trainer Míchel on the Ajax bench.

The Amsterdammers are preparing for the new Eredivisie season, which starts on August 9 against PEC Zwolle.

Team News and Broadcast Details

Ajax will be without left winger Mika Godts due to personal circumstances.

The 21-year-old, who scored 17 goals and provided 12 assists last season, is replaced by Pharell Nash in the starting lineup.

Several other players are missing from the squad selection. Kasper Dolberg, Oliver Edvardsen, and new signing Caio Henrique did not train sufficiently ahead of the encounter.

Ajax will enter the second qualifying round of the Conference League on July 23.
