ABC has delayed the third season of its hit crime procedural High Potential to the midseason lineup, pushing the premiere from fall 2026 to January 2027.
The network said the scheduling shift is a strategic decision to broadcast the series in an uninterrupted weekly block.

Strong Ratings but Strategic Pause
The series, which premiered in 2024, stars Kaitlin Olson as an exceptionally gifted single mother who solves crimes for the LAPD.
It regularly attracts 12 to 17 million total viewers per episode.
Despite its strong performance, network executives opted to hold the upcoming installment alongside other anticipated titles, including the new spinoff series The Rookie: North.
While the network has not released the official episode count for the third season, industry expectations point to a reduced number of segments.
The first season had 13 episodes, while the second expanded to 18 episodes.

Plot and Cast Changes
The upcoming season will address major narrative cliffhangers from the season two finale, including leadership changes within the police department.
