A single-vehicle lorry crash on the M40 southbound near Oxford has left a man in his 50s in serious condition.
The incident occurred between junction 8a and junction 9 for Bicester, reported at approximately 5:00 a. m.

Multiple emergency vehicles responded, leading to the closure of that section of the roadway.
National Highways stated that heavy goods vehicle recovery operations continued at the scene.
This caused three miles of congestion and travel delays of around 30 minutes for motorists.

The disruption coincides with the penultimate day of the four-day British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The event began on Thursday, July 2, and concludes on Sunday, July 5, with around 500,000 spectators expected.
Police Urge Vigilance Amid Heightened Security
Northamptonshire Police advised attendees to remain vigilant following an increase in the national terrorism threat level to severe in April.
Chief Inspector Pete Basham, Event Commander for Northamptonshire Police, said major events like the Grand Prix can be targets.
