A shooting at a crowded community festival in Toronto, Canada, left two people dead and three injured on Saturday night, according to reports.

Emergency responders and police converged on the Salsa on St Clair festival after receiving reports of gunfire and multiple injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:12 PM on St Clair Avenue West near Arlington Avenue, a busy commercial district lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Upon arrival, officers found five individuals with gunshot wounds. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three were treated by emergency services.

Authorities have not disclosed the medical condition of the surviving victims.

Police Search for Suspect

Toronto police launched an intensive search for the shooter, who fled the area. Multiple units were deployed, and the public was advised to avoid the vicinity.

Police used social media to broadcast safety warnings, including a post on X urging people to stay away and follow directions from officers.
