A fire at a pub in Bangkok, Thailand, has killed at least 27 people and injured dozens of others.
The blaze broke out on Monday at the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao pub in the Chatuchak district.

Officials confirmed the high number of casualties. Emergency responders and local administration representatives stated that 63 individuals sustained injuries.
"There are more than 27 dead," said Anwut Pho-ampai of the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, a voluntary emergency rescue service.
Prime Minister Visits Scene
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the disaster site early Monday to assess rescue operations. He provided initial details on how the tragedy unfolded.

"We have recovered 27 bodies, others are being sent to hospital," Anutin said.
According to the prime minister, survivor accounts indicated that the pub rapidly filled with thick smoke after the fire started.
Many patrons fled toward the back of the building near the restrooms, where they became trapped due to a lack of fire escapes.

The incident is one of the deadliest entertainment venue fires in the popular tourist destination in recent years.
