Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason's McLaren F1 GTR, known as 'The Pop Art F1,' is heading to auction next month.
The car is expected to fetch north of $35 million, potentially becoming the most valuable F1 ever sold at a public sale.
Chassis 10R is the first F1 built to GTR specification for the 1996 racing season.
It arrived a year after chassis 01R won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Finished in Blood Red, the car participated in Pre-Qualifying for Le Mans, driven by David Brabham.
However, it did not race at Le Mans that year; sister car chassis 11R was used instead.
An F1 With a Checkered Past
McLaren initially retained the car but sold it to Nick Mason in 1999 for an undisclosed sum.
The company converted it for road use, with Lanzante handling further modifications.
In 2009, a journalist crashed the car into a wheat field, prompting a full restoration by Lanzante.
It later participated in several European motorsport events, including a 750 km road rally in Italy and the 2017 Goodwood Members' Meeting.
At Goodwood, Mason lost control and hit a tire wall. Lanzante repaired the car again, returning it to its former glory.
Mason remains the car's one and only private owner. It has been routinely serviced and is in pristine condition.
