Portuguese club SC Braga has submitted an improved transfer offer of €6 million including bonuses for sc Heerenveen midfielder Marcus Linday, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on July 22, 2026.
The updated bid follows an earlier €5 million offer from Braga for the Swedish midfielder.
Linday has informed the Dutch club's management that he desires a move to Portugal for the upcoming season.
The transfer offer comes during a period of broader roster restructuring for the Frisian club ahead of the new Eredivisie campaign.
Heerenveen's Squad Changes
Heerenveen has already finalized multiple player departures, including the loan of 19-year-old winger Eser Gürbüz to newly promoted Eredivisie side Willem II for the upcoming season.
Gürbüz made his first-team debut and scored in February 2025, but was unable to secure a permanent starting position after frequently featuring as a substitute over the past year and a half.
"We spoke with Eser about his prospects and reached the conclusion that a loan is currently best for his development," said sc Heerenveen Technical Director Johan Hansma.
"At his age, it is important to get plenty of playing time and gain experience.
It is good that he gets that opportunity with Willem II in the Eredivisie."
In another major midfield departure, supporter-voted player of the year Joris van Overeem has officially left Heerenveen to rejoin FC Utrecht after a single season.
