Families who received care from Dissanayake and have concerns can contact the patient relations team.
The University of Toronto, where Dissanayake held a clinical faculty appointment, also placed him on administrative leave.
In a statement to CTV News, university officials said they are reaching out to community members who worked or learned with him to offer support and resources.
The institution confirmed no evidence suggests the charges involve university activities and stated it would end relationships with anyone found engaging in such conduct.
Regulators have taken administrative action regarding Dissanayake's professional credentials.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario suspended his certificate of registration effective July 21, citing the need for urgent intervention to protect patient safety.
Spokeswoman Laura Zilke said in an email statement that the College is committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure patient safety and accountability within Ontario's health care system and to upholding public confidence in the medical profession.

Police stated the investigation remains ongoing and anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Toronto Police Service.
