A knife attack in northwest Paris on July 27, 2026, left three women injured, including a pregnant victim.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a. m.

near Place de Clichy, between the Les Deux Coupoles brasserie and the Porte de Clichy tram stop.
Authorities arrested a 31-year-old suspect at the scene, who was carrying two kitchen knives.
An off-duty police officer, assisted by bystanders who used a chair to restrain the man, detained him.
Victims and Condition
The victims, aged 19, 24, and 36, suffered severe wounds. One was stabbed in the lower back, another in the abdomen.
Two of the women remain in critical condition after being transported to a local hospital.
Emergency medical personnel treated the victims on the street before moving them to the hospital.

Investigation and Motive
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez praised the off-duty officer's actions, calling it a courageous act.
He noted that the motive remains unknown and that the suspect uttered incoherent statements during his arrest.
According to Le Figaro, the suspect said, "Allah ordered me to do it!" while being pinned down.
Nunez cautioned that officials must be careful regarding the motives behind the violence.
Police have not formally identified the suspect, who is believed to have mental health issues.
A formal investigation has begun under the supervision of the Paris prosecutor's office and the national anti-terror prosecutor's office.

Authorities established a police cordon and closed nearby metro and tram stations following the incident. Law enforcement operations continue at the scene.
