Dangerous coastal swells and rough seas are affecting parts of Mexico and Hawaii as two storm systems move across the Pacific Ocean.
Hurricane Genevieve, a Category 4 system, has maximum sustained winds of 140 mph (220 kph).

It is located about 515 miles (830 kilometers) southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, moving northwest at 10 mph (17 kph).
Although no coastal watches or warnings are in effect, ocean swells from Genevieve are creating life-threatening surf and rip current conditions along Mexico's southwestern coastline and the Baja California peninsula.
The storm is expected to fluctuate in strength before weakening later this week.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Fausto is tracking west-northwest at 15 mph (24 kph) approximately 340 miles (545 kilometers) east-northeast of Hilo, Hawaii.
It carries maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph).
Strong currents and high surf are expanding along Hawaii's eastern shores.

Forecasters project Fausto to pass north of the islands, and officials advise residents to monitor local weather developments.
