Rangers have held discussions with Coventry City regarding a season-long loan deal for winger Jahnoah Markelo, as manager Derek McInnes seeks to add width to his squad ahead of the Scottish Premiership opener against Dundee United on July 31.
The 23-year-old Surinamese attacker was previously on Rangers' recruitment radar before completing a €5 million transfer from FC Zurich to Coventry in January.

However, Markelo has struggled for playing time under manager Frank Lampard, making only five substitute appearances totaling 44 minutes.
Markelo's Background and Potential Departure
Born in the Netherlands, Markelo developed in the academies of Ajax and FC Twente before stints with Kustosija and Celje.
He could become the fourth player to leave Coventry on loan this summer, following Norman Bassette, Isaac Moore, and Callum Perry.
McInnes confirmed his intention to finalize additional transfer business before Rangers travel to face Dundee United on Friday.

Besiktas football director Onder Ozen addressed parallel transfer speculation regarding Mo Salah that directly impacted alternative Rangers target Vaclav Cerny.
