Ella Langley's country single "Choosin’ Texas" has spent its 15th consecutive week at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new record for the longest-running US No. 1 by a solo female artist for a non-holiday track.
The achievement surpasses iconic hits like Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together," both of which held the top spot for 14 weeks.

The midtempo country two-step blends a retro sound with modern production, resonating with audiences nationwide.
Streaming Dominance
On the Streaming Songs chart, "Choosin’ Texas" has maintained the number one position for 16 weeks, tying Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" as the fourth-longest-running leader in the chart's history.
Langley is the only country artist to achieve such streaming dominance in recent years.
The song debuted on the Streaming Songs chart in November 2025 and took several months to reach number one in January 2026.
It has spent 40 weeks on the streaming tally, with its time at the top split across six separate runs despite interruptions from major releases by artists like Bruno Mars, Olivia Rodrigo, Drake, and Taylor Swift.
Victoria Banks, a Nashville-based songwriter and Belmont University instructor, credits the song's understated and nostalgic qualities for its appeal.
"It’s a sleeper hit – it’s understated and unassuming," Banks said.
"Everything about the song throws back to a simpler time in country music that people are really craving."
