Arsenal are close to signing a center-back to cover for injured defender William Saliba.
The 25-year-old sustained a major back injury during France's World Cup semi-final against Spain.

Saliba is expected to miss an extended period.
This has forced the Premier League club to seek immediate defensive reinforcements ahead of their season opener against Coventry City.
Journalist Bruno Andrade reported that Arsenal are making rapid progress in securing a new defender. However, the name of the target has not been revealed yet.
"I don't have the name here, so I can't call it an exclusive," Andrade said on YouTube.
He added, "But speaking to someone involved in Bruno Guimarães' situation, Arsenal are close to signing a center-back to solve, for now, the issue created by Saliba's injury."
Andrade emphasized the urgency of the deal. "They haven't given me the name yet.
I'm trying to find out so I can help our English colleagues too, but it's a deal that will happen even faster than the Bruno Guimarães transfer.

It's really imminent," he said.
Beyond the first-team, Arsenal are also reinforcing their youth sector.
Journalist Sam Dean reported that the club are closing in on the signing of 16-year-old forward Mylo Bernard from Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, there is growing confidence that Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes will move to London. This follows the exit of Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe.

The insider added, "Things are progressing and there is a feeling it will happen sooner rather than later."
Saliba's absence is a significant blow for Arsenal.
