A former Albuquerque police officer has been indicted on charges of false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery.
The charges stem from a minor rear-end collision that occurred while he was off-duty.

The incident took place on March 28 near Paseo del Norte and Universe in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
A 33-year-old woman reportedly hit the rear of the car in which Shawn Ginn was a passenger.
Security camera footage shows Ginn approaching the woman's vehicle after the impact. He appears to open her door and move toward her aggressively.
Bystander video then shows Ginn grabbing the woman by her wrists, pulling her from the car, and pushing her against the rear fender.

He allegedly forced her arm behind her back without identifying himself as an officer.
Police arrived and spoke with the woman, Ginn, and witnesses.
Ginn told police he thought the woman was drunk, but a field sobriety test showed she was not, according to KRQE.
An internal affairs investigation was opened, but Ginn retired before it was completed.

Witnesses described the encounter as “very, very rough” and said Ginn “bulldogged right over to her” and “started barking at her.”
