Mitsubishi is preparing to expand the Pajero nameplate into a full family of off-road-focused models.
The revived flagship SUV arrives for 2027, but two smaller siblings are already in the pipeline.

A compact crossover aimed at the Toyota RAV4 is expected around 2028 or 2029. A kei-class SUV, likely reviving the Pajero Mini badge, could follow by 2030.
Compact Pajero: RAV4 Rival
The RAV4-sized model is the more significant addition. Mitsubishi is reportedly developing a dedicated platform while borrowing components from the Outlander to control costs.
This approach should give the compact Pajero its own identity while leveraging Mitsubishi's hybrid expertise.
According to Nikkei Asia, the company will emphasize four-wheel-drive technology to stand out from rivals like the RAV4 and Mazda CX-5.
The compact Pajero is seen as a spiritual successor to the 1999-2007 Pajero iO (Pajero Pinin in Europe).
It will offer hybrid powertrain options.

Kei SUV: Pajero Mini Returns
The smallest Pajero will be a unibody kei SUV with increased ground clearance, available all-wheel drive, and hybrid power from the Xforce crossover.
It will revive the Pajero Mini name, which disappeared over 15 years ago.
Styling is expected to draw from the rugged Delica Mini kei van, featuring upright proportions and chunky cladding.
This model is unlikely to reach the US market.
