Acura has released a teaser video for a new concept that will debut at The Quail during Monterey Car Week.
The 10-second clip focuses on the rear lighting signature, which is unlike anything in the current lineup.
The brand says the concept showcases its new design language. This language will first appear on the fourth-generation RDX Hybrid, expected for the 2028 model year.
The concept features illuminated Acura lettering stretched across the tail panel.
Flanking it are taillights shaped like a sliced letter X, with each side forming half of the shape.
This X motif is new to Acura's showroom models, but it appeared on a recent Hybrid SUV concept.
That concept was believed to preview the next RDX.
Additional vertical light elements sit above and below the Acura lettering.
The upper strip likely serves as the high-mounted brake light, while the lower one could be part of the taillight assembly or a fog light.
The concept is expected to be a thinly disguised preview of the next RDX.
This approach mirrors the RSX Concept shown at The Quail in 2025, which nearly became a production model.
The current RDX is a compact luxury SUV competing with models like the BMW X3.
It offers front- or all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, but it lacks a hybrid option.
Acura will reveal the concept on August 14 at The Quail, a prestigious event during Monterey Car Week.
The brand has used this venue for several past reveals.
