Digital artist Khyzyl Saleem has unveiled a striking concept that reimagines the Ferrari 849 Testarossa with a heavy dose of retro styling.
The design study, which has been widely praised by fans, aims to bridge the gap between the modern supercar and the iconic 1980s original.

A Nod to the Past
Saleem's concept retains only the greenhouse and the rear window that doubles as an engine cover from the factory car.
Every other panel has been reskinned to evoke the classic Testarossa, starting with pop-up headlights that were originally considered by Ferrari's designers but killed by homologation rules.
The wide nose features slim bumper intakes above a pronounced carbon fiber splitter, giving the front end a pure '80s look.
The profile is a clear homage to the original, with deeper and more dramatic side strakes.
Vintage HRE 505 alloy wheels with a star-spoke design complete the retro vibe, along with a single driver-side mirror.

The tail blends modern and retro elements, with slim LED taillights running inside full-width black louvers and a large carbon fiber diffuser wrapping two round exhaust outlets.
Under the skin, the concept would share underpinnings with the roadgoing 849 Testarossa, featuring a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and three electric motors delivering 1,035 horsepower (772 kW) to all four wheels.
Saleem said he respects the aggressive look of the factory car but wanted to pull it closer to its own legacy.
He also mentioned that the death of electronic music producer Kavinsky was an emotional trigger for the project.
