The Honduran national football team surprised defender Victor Vandenbroucke with a birthday celebration on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at their hotel dining hall in Kingston, Jamaica.
The gathering took place ahead of their Concacaf Nations League fixture against the host nation.
Vandenbroucke, who plays for KAA Gent, reached adulthood during his first call-up to the national side.
Players managed by Jose Molina organized the event to foster team unity before their second-round match in the regional tournament.
A Surprise Celebration
The surprise began when the team chef brought out a birthday cake while teammates clapped dishes and cheered.
Senior figures Luis Palma and David Ruiz encouraged Vandenbroucke to address the squad, prompting him to speak in Spanish to demonstrate his progress with the language.
Standing before the players and coaching staff, the young defender expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome.
"I am going to say thank you very much, thank you so much to everyone for incorporating me into the team and for being with me," said Victor Vandenbroucke, defender for the Honduras national football team.
Head coach Jose Molina and sports director Francis Hernandez acknowledged Vandenbroucke's remarks as the team continues its training preparation for the upcoming contest in Kingston.
