England have decided to rest fast bowler Jofra Archer for the opening Test against New Zealand, starting June 4 at Lord's, to manage his workload following the IPL 2026 season.
The England Cricket Board confirmed the decision, citing the need for Archer to recover from the physical demands of the IPL before returning to Test cricket after a long injury layoff.
