The BMW i3 Touring is shaping up to be a refreshing alternative to the sea of electric SUVs flooding the market.
With its sleek estate body and impressive specs, it might just convince some buyers to skip the iX3.

A New Electric Estate from BMW
BMW confirmed an estate version of the i3 sedan earlier this year, and recent spy shots show a prototype testing at the Nürburgring.
The lightly camouflaged car retains the sedan's sleek styling but in a slightly lengthened form.
It's likely a tester for the i3 Touring 50 xDrive, the only version confirmed so far.
This dual-motor setup should produce 463 hp, just 17 hp less than a standard BMW M3.

Range and Charging
Built on BMW's Neue Klasse platform, the i3 Touring will feature a 108.7 kWh battery with cylindrical cells.
This should enable a WLTP range of around 550 miles (885 km), more than enough for long road trips.
DC fast charging supports up to 400 kW, allowing a 10-80 percent charge in about 21 minutes.
