England opening batter Tammy Beaumont has announced her retirement from international cricket, effective after the team's upcoming Test match against India at Lord's.

The 35-year-old right-handed batter made the announcement on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, concluding a 17-year international career with 260 appearances across all formats.

A Stellar Career

Beaumont is England Women's record century-maker in One Day Internationals with 12 hundreds.

She is one of only two English women to score international centuries in all three formats.

In 2023, she scored 208 against Australia at Trent Bridge, becoming the first Englishwoman to hit a Test double-century and breaking an 88-year-old national record.

Beaumont earned her first central contract in 2015 and was the leading run-scorer and Player of the Tournament during England's 2017 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup triumph on home soil.

"Playing for England for nearly 17 years has been the greatest honour," Beaumont said.

"When I fell in love with playing cricket as a young girl, I barely knew that playing for England was an option."

She added, "We've always wanted to take the cap forward for the next generation and the time has come for me to hand over that privilege."

Following her international retirement, Beaumont will continue playing domestic cricket for Kent, the Blaze, and the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.

"This Test match at Lord's – our first ever women's Test at Lord's – feels like the perfect occasion to sign off," Beaumont said.

England Women Managing Director Clare Connor praised Beaumont's contribution.

"Tammy has made a remarkable contribution to the England Women's cricket team and we will miss her incredibly," Connor said.

Connor highlighted Beaumont's team-first attitude and her impact on the sport.

"Always smiling, always fun, and always team-first, Tammy should be so proud of a stellar international career," Connor said.
