The Indianapolis Colts are set for a demanding start to their 2026 NFL season, with early matchups against several elite teams.
According to reports, the Colts will face the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans, and Pittsburgh Steelers in the opening weeks.

A mid-season window, however, could provide some relief. Lee Vowell, site expert for Horseshoe Heroes, noted that weeks 10 through 13 might offer a reprieve.
“The Indianapolis Colts don't truly have an 'easy' stretch in 2026, but the weeks between 10 and 13 could be a salve to a difficult road,” Vowell said.
This stretch includes a home game against the Miami Dolphins, a road trip to the Houston Texans, and a home game against the New York Giants before the bye week.
The Week 11 matchup against the Texans is particularly intense, as Houston has won five of the last six meetings since 2023.
In Week 2, the Colts travel to Kansas City for a Sunday Night Football game at Arrowhead Stadium on September 20.

CBS Sports analyst Tyler Sullivan highlighted that much of the offseason focus for the Chiefs has been on quarterback Patrick Mahomes' recovery from an ACL tear.
“It's been a busy offseason for Kansas City on both sides of the ball.
Naturally, the majority of the focus has been on Patrick Mahomes and his rehab from his ACL tear late last season,” Sullivan said.
The Colts also face tough non-divisional road games against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7 and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14.

Overall, the Colts' schedule is heavily front-loaded, but the final six weeks offer a more favorable path, including games against the New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tennessee Titans.
