Cleveland Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee ended a franchise-record 13-start winless streak to open the season by throwing eight scoreless innings in a 6-0 shutout victory against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field on Saturday.
Bibee limited Texas to three hits and two walks while striking out three batters on 87 pitches.

The win marked his first victory since a September 24 regular-season matchup against Detroit last year.
The Guardians provided run support in the fourth inning when Jose Ramirez hit a leadoff solo home run off Rangers starter Jack Leiter, establishing a Cleveland franchise record with 11 seasons of 10 or more home runs.
"Man, that was outstanding," said Stephen Vogt, manager of the Cleveland Guardians.
"You know, it seemed like from the first inning on, he just kept attacking, kept making pitches when he needed to.
Never really got into big trouble, just really limited them to weak contact and quick outs. So, phenomenal job."
Cleveland's offense added four more runs in the fifth inning, which included a solo home run by Brayan Rocchio, followed by RBI hits from Chase DeLauter, Kyle Manzardo, and Daniel Schneemann to drive Leiter from the game.
"We haven't scored a lot of runs when Tanner's been on the mound, even in some of the starts in which he's pitched exceptionally well," said Chris Antonetti, general manager of the Cleveland Guardians.
