“When we compare ourselves to the top teams, our biggest gap is currently in the power unit. Both performance, software, and drivability must improve,” he said.
Consequently, Audi maintains its structured long-term strategy: prioritizing team building in 2026, aiming for competitiveness in 2028, and targeting the world championship by 2030.
“2026 is about becoming competitive as a team.
That is not about a specific position or points total, but about creating the right mentality,” Binotto stated.
“We do not expect to be at the same level as the top in 2027. 2028 seems more realistic.
