Newcastle United is prepared to sell goalkeeper Nick Pope this summer as part of a major revamp of their goalkeeping department.

The 34-year-old England international has attracted interest from newly-promoted Ipswich Town and Leeds United.

According to reports, Newcastle has set a valuation of around £5 million to £10 million for Pope to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires next year.

Newcastle Close to Signing Young Keeper

The Magpies are nearing a £24 million deal for Stade de Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen.

The 20-year-old French youth international is expected to arrive on Tyneside for a medical and sign a four-year contract.

Head coach Eddie Howe plans to give Jaouen the chance to earn the starting spot during pre-season.

Ipswich Town, Pope's boyhood club, has already held talks with Newcastle over a potential transfer.

However, any move to Portman Road would require the veteran goalkeeper to accept a wage cut following his difficult 2025/26 campaign.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is also monitoring Pope as he seeks an experienced number one.

The West Yorkshire club is considering selling Lucas Perri while preparing a new contract for backup keeper Karl Darlow.

Newcastle has already confirmed the departures of Aaron Ramsdale, John Ruddy, and Max Thompson this summer.

The club remains interested in Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford to further rebuild the department, though the financial package poses a significant hurdle.

Meanwhile, Leeds United plans squad stability under Farke after a 14th-place finish.
