Arsenal has begun restructuring its medical department after head of sports medicine Dr. Zafar Iqbal was informed of his departure, following the team's Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
BBC Sport reported that Iqbal's two-year tenure was marked by numerous first-team injuries, prompting the club to seek a replacement.

Recruitment for the role is already underway.
On the transfer front, Arsenal is evaluating midfield depth behind Declan Rice. Internal discussions have included preliminary inquiries about Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali, according to Arsenal Insider.
However, Newcastle has placed a £100 million valuation on the Italian midfielder, which could block any formal agreement.
Manchester United is also monitoring Tonali's situation.
Defensive and Offensive Considerations
Arsenal is also exploring alternative defensive options after missing out on Aleksandar Stankovic.
The club had monitored the Serbian defensive midfielder before Inter Milan activated a buy-back clause worth just over £20 million, as reported by Arsenal Station.

Meanwhile, defender Jurrien Timber has been ruled out of the upcoming World Cup.
Mirror Football stated that the Netherlands national team decided not to risk the defender after he sustained a groin injury shortly after returning from a long-term absence.
Former Arsenal defender Micah Richards urged the club to prioritize offensive reinforcements in the current transfer window.
"[The player] would fit Arteta's system and could be a statement addition beyond Gyokeres and Havertz," Richards said.
