Manchester City forward Vivianne Miedema has undergone a second knee operation to address ongoing physical discomfort, the club announced on June 8, 2026.
The 29-year-old striker is expected to recover in time for the upcoming football season's pre-season preparations as she begins her rehabilitation process.

Miedema made her return to action on May 31, 2026, playing 30 minutes and scoring the final goal in Manchester City's 4-0 FA Cup final victory against Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, subsequent assessments revealed she was still not fully fit, leading to the joint decision between Miedema and Manchester City to opt for surgical intervention.

The knee injury forced Miedema to withdraw from the Netherlands national team for the World Cup qualifiers against Ireland, which ended in a 3-2 defeat, and Poland.
