Five-star point guard prospect Davion Thompson has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball program, announcing his decision on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound recruit selected Arkansas over multiple high-profile scholarship offers, including Baylor, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Tennessee.

Thompson is ranked as the No. 5 point guard and No. 22 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Strong Performances on the Circuit

The Illinois native recently delivered impressive numbers on the Nike EYBL Circuit while playing for Meanstreets.

He averaged 21.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, shooting nearly 52 percent from three-point range.

Thompson also gained international experience with Team USA in the 2026 FIBA Men's U18 AmeriCup, averaging 9.8 points and 3.2 assists in 18.7 minutes per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field.

He cited the program culture and head coach John Calipari's track record with guards as key factors in his decision.

"Just the culture they have and the reputation that coach Cal has," Thompson said.

"He has a lot of guards that come through, and he puts them in the NBA and in the best position to chase their dreams."

Thompson also emphasized his strong relationship with the coaching staff.

"They've been on me since I was a sophomore or junior, so I have a good relationship with them.

I like the visit when I went up there. Everything was good," he added.
