Crusaders head coach Rob Penney welcomed back tighthead prop Fletcher Newell from a minor MCL injury to bolster the front row alongside veteran hooker Codie Taylor.

"Fletch has played phenomenally for us, and we’re blessed to have him back this week," Penney said.
The Christchurch team had earned their semifinal berth by securing a 52-31 victory over the Blues in the previous playoff round.
Penney adjusted his backline by inserting international center Braydon Ennor into the starting lineup to replace the injured Dallas McLeod.
"You need all your top weaponry available at this time of year, and his experience is going to be very valuable," Penney said.
The coaching staff anticipated a highly physical encounter and relied on the structural depth of their international-heavy roster.
"He’s world class and brings some different elements, but he’s equally as impressive on both sides of the ball.
You lose one, bring another in, and it’s hopefully pretty seamless," Penney added.
Newell expressed complete physical readiness after integrating back into full team preparations earlier in the week.
"I’m feeling really good, really confident in how the last week’s gone around my knee, and really excited to get back in the team.
It’s going to be an awesome fixture this week," Newell said.
