Australian fast bowler Lucy Hamilton announced on Monday at The Oval that she is carrying renewed confidence into her team's ICC Women's T20 World Cup semifinal against the West Indies on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
The 20-year-old left-arm quick earned a spot in Australia's 15-player squad over the experienced Darcie Brown.

She recently started the bowling attack against India at Lord's in front of a pro-India crowd of 27,000 spectators, finishing with figures of 0-17 from three overs.
Hamilton maintained an economy rate of 4.44 across three tournament matches, ranking as the second lowest in the competition behind her teammate Georgia Wareham who recorded a 4.20 economy rate.
"It's been really fun," said Hamilton, a player for the Brisbane Heat who previously gained experience in the Women's Premier League in India.
The young bowler noted that opening the bowling in domestic cricket allowed her to remain highly proactive against international batters.
"I've (opened the bowling) a bit for the Brisbane Heat which was really cool, and I've been taking that experience into this and just trying to be as proactive as possible and stay on my toes and trying to predict what the batters are doing," Hamilton stated.
The Queenslander added that executing her role in front of a massive crowd against a formidable Indian lineup provided a substantial psychological lift before the knockout phase.
"But it's lots of fun, really exciting to run out there and take the first over," Hamilton added.
