And all of a sudden, we rented almost every school bus in Rhode Island and the surrounding area," said Gillan.

Rhode Island-based social media influencer Mia Carroccia witnessed the fleet arrive in Providence and praised the charitable efforts of the visiting contingent.

"Their charity work is amazing," said Carroccia.

Scottish teacher Martin Friel noted that he had previously only seen the iconic yellow vehicles on television programs before riding one to the stadium.

"I have waited my whole life for this," said Friel.

The vehicles were sourced from multiple local school systems, including the Plymouth, Weymouth, Holbrook, and Duxbury school districts.

"While we're here, we might as well get involved in the American experience," said Friel.

Another Scotland fan expressed excitement about the festive atmosphere aboard the regional school transport vehicles.

"We're on a yellow bus, so you can say it's our first school day at the World Cup," said Scotland fan Sam Donegan.

The fans traveled to the stadium to watch Scotland play Haiti, during which Fox News and AOL reported that Scottish visitors have been widely exploring American culture, including visits to Buc-ee's and Waffle House.

"We're having a party!" said Donegan.

Paula McFadden, a longtime driver for Holbrook Public Schools, volunteered for the assignment when her district sought drivers for the international soccer fans.

"It was a little different than driving for school," she said, smiling, after completing the journey to Foxborough.
