Lightweight competitor Nazim Sadykhov is scheduled to fight Matheus Camilo on the main card of UFC Fight Night 280 at the Crystal Palace in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Sadykhov enters the matchup following a second-round technical knockout loss against Fares Ziam in December, which ended his 12-fight unbeaten streak.
The 32-year-old fighter holds an overall professional record of 11-2-1, including a 4-1-1 standing within the UFC promotions.
Sadykhov recently established a new training facility in Las Vegas alongside partners Charlie and George Quinn to adjust his physical preparation after his last defeat.
"Hard-nose, powerful guy, size, likes to throw heavy, wrestle heavy, grapple heavy – but I'm going to have puzzles for him he won't be able to solve," said Sadykhov.
The lightweight fighter noted that this upcoming bout marks a specific transition point in his mixed martial arts trajectory inside the Octagon.
"I think this is the first time in the UFC where I'm actually going to be the veteran, and I'm going to take full advantage," said Sadykhov.
Sadykhov expressed confidence regarding his preparation framework and overall condition heading into the scheduled international event.
"I feel great, I had an amazing camp with amazing people, I surrounded myself with purely professionals, the best of the best, so I'm more ready than ever before," Sadykhov said.
The athlete emphasized his motivation to deliver an improved performance relative to his prior promotional outing.
"I'm hungrier and angrier to get back and show everybody who I am," Sadykhov said.
Sadykhov dismissed personal justifications regarding the previous technical knockout stoppage loss he sustained in December.
"I didn't make excuses then, I won't tell you excuses now," Sadykhov said.
The fighter detailed that internal procedural adjustments were implemented immediately following that competitive setback.
"I did not show up that night," Sadykhov said.
Sadykhov concluded that the structural modifications to his training camp routine would prevent a repeat of that performance outcome.
"There was many reasons for that, but (Saturday) – or, forget (Saturday)," Sadykhov said.
The Azerbaijani-raised fighter stated that his physical readiness has reached a consistent developmental baseline.
"That could never happen again," Sadykhov said.
Sadykhov remarked that his competitive evolution would remain visible in subsequent professional appearances.
"Physically, that could never happen again," Sadykhov said.
The athlete finalized his thoughts by highlighting the systemic modifications made to his overall athletic preparation.
"I won't allow it," Sadykhov said.
Sadykhov reconfirmed that his current operational framework differs completely from his past promotional appearances.
"We changed the whole scenario since then," Sadykhov said.
The veteran competitor stated that his upcoming performance would reflect these specific changes.
"We changed everything, so the version of me that's showing up (Saturday) is going to be the version you see show up better and better every time going forward," Sadykhov said.
Camilo enters the bout holding a 10-3 career record, following a unanimous decision victory against Viacheslav Borshchev in November, during which he successfully converted five out of ten takedown attempts.
