Municipalities across Canada are finalizing preparations for extensive Canada Day celebrations on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
The nationwide events will feature live musical performances, multi-city fireworks displays, and community parades.

Ontario: 54-40 to Headline Aurora Concert
In Aurora, Ontario, the iconic Canadian rock band 54-40 will headline a free public celebration at Lambert Willson Park.
The Vancouver-based group, celebrating 45 years and over 2,500 shows, will perform a mix of classic hits and new material from their latest album, PORTO, starting at 8:30 p.
m.
The band features lead vocalist Neil Osborne, bassist Brad Merritt, drummer Matt Johnson, keyboardist David Osborne, and lead guitarist Dave Genn.
Genn noted that long-standing friendships and continuous creative engagement have driven the group's decades-long career.
"There's no reason for us to stop, and we feel very fortunate to be able to do this," said Dave Genn, lead guitarist of 54-40.
The band prides itself on delivering high-energy live performances every time they take the stage.
"We pride ourselves on being a great live band every time we step on stage, and we put a lot of effort into that," said Genn.

Genn, who joined the modern lineup in 2003, was a fan of the band as a teenager.
"Sometimes I'm up there playing songs from the mid-'80s and I have to pinch myself because I'm playing with my local heroes," he added.
Manitoba: Province-Wide Festivities
Manitoba is launching a comprehensive schedule of events across multiple cities.
Winnipeg will host major gatherings at Assiniboine Park, Princess Auto Stadium, Assiniboia Downs, and The Forks, featuring citizenship ceremonies, cultural pavilions, and live orchestras.
Evening fireworks are scheduled at 10:30 p. m.
at Princess Auto Stadium and 11:00 p. m.
at Assiniboia Downs.

Regional celebrations across Manitoba, including Brandon, Selkirk, Steinbach, and Thompson, will also feature synchronized fireworks displays alongside local parades and daytime markets.
