The Walt Disney Company has agreed to pay $50 million to settle a class-action antitrust lawsuit.
The case alleged that Disney violated antitrust laws by inflating prices for live TV streaming subscriptions.

The lawsuit, Biddle v. Disney, was filed in 2022 by subscribers of YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream.
Plaintiffs argued that Disney used its control over popular networks like ESPN and Hulu to force competing platforms to include premium sports channels in basic packages.
Eligibility for Compensation
Subscribers who had active, paid accounts for YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2026, may be eligible for a payout.

This includes legacy services like DirecTV Now and AT&T TV Now.
Individual compensation will be calculated on a pro rata basis. The amount depends on the length of each subscriber's service and the total number of valid claims.
Eligible class members must submit a claim using a unique identification code from their settlement notice. The deadline to apply is September 8, 2026.

A federal court hearing to approve the settlement is scheduled for January 14, 2027. Payouts are expected to follow shortly after approval.
