The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) mandate takes effect from midday on Saturday, July 4, until 5 p.

m. on Wednesday, July 8.

The warning covers London, the East Midlands, the South East, the South West, and eastern England.

Minor impacts on health infrastructure are anticipated due to the rising temperatures, according to the UKHSA.

Officials noted that the hot weather heightens risks for vulnerable populations.

The conditions also increase the likelihood of water-related accidents, such as drowning or cold-water shock.

High indoor temperatures remain a primary concern for the affected regions.

The Met Office anticipates a potential return to heatwave conditions over the upcoming weekend.

"The forecast for this weekend suggests that temperatures could approach high 20C across parts of England, perhaps 30C in parts of the southeast, with values of mid to high 20C in Wales," said Tony Wisson, Met Office deputy chief forecaster.

The agency noted that while temperatures will rise, the severity is not expected to match the previous week's extreme weather.

"Although a return to heatwave conditions is looking increasingly likely for some areas, the likelihood of such extreme high temperatures or high levels of humidity as last week is currently low," said Tony Wisson.
