The BC Prosecution Service has formally charged a North Vancouver volleyball coach with 10 sexual offenses following an investigation into multiple complaints involving teenage players on his team.

North Vancouver RCMP identified the suspect as Iraj Mozaffari, owner and head coach of Toop O Toor Volleyball Club since 2016.

The charges include five counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference of a person under 16, and two counts of touching a young person for a sexual purpose.

The criminal investigation began on December 22, 2024, after authorities received several reports alleging sexual assault of children in the local volleyball program.

Police arrested the coach in April 2025, and the alleged offenses span an eight-year period between January 2016 and December 2024.

According to North Vancouver RCMP, the investigation required interviews with numerous witnesses and affected players before a comprehensive report was submitted to the BC Prosecution Service.

Publication bans remain in place to protect the identities of all youth complainants in this case.

Prior to establishing his volleyball club in North Vancouver, Mozaffari operated a sports coaching academy in Tehran, Iran, and served as the national under-19 volleyball coach for Mexico and Iran.
