PSV Eindhoven faces a strategic hurdle in its pursuit of AZ Alkmaar midfielder Sven Mijnans.
A newly revealed €15 million release clause in his contract excludes domestic clubs, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.

The Dutch champions are heavily pursuing the 26-year-old as a primary summer reinforcement. AZ Alkmaar blocked a similar transfer attempt last year.
Securing the player requires navigating complex contract terms that favor foreign competitors. Eindhovens Dagblad detailed the specific restrictions in Mijnans' contract.
Because the fixed fee is invalid for domestic transfers, PSV must submit an offer higher than €15 million to convince AZ Alkmaar.

Meanwhile, international clubs Juventus, Como, and RB Leipzig remain positioned to trigger the exact release clause amount.
Scheduled weekend negotiations between PSV and AZ Alkmaar will determine if a financial compromise can be reached before foreign clubs submit formal bids.
If the clubs reach an agreement, Mijnans is expected to sign a four- or five-year contract in Eindhoven.
