Video captured by attendees showed several pyrotechnics misfiring sideways into the half-filled stands instead of ascending overhead.
No Injuries Reported
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed it did not respond to any emergency calls or treat any injuries at the stadium that night, a spokesperson told The Athletic.
An announced crowd of 13,900 people attended the match, which marked Angel City FC's first game under interim head coach Leif Gunnar Smerud.
Angel City FC communications manager Stephanie Rudnick stated that a third-party vendor was hired to facilitate the pyrotechnics display, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"A fireworks malfunction did occur during last night’s post-match celebration at Angel City FC’s game vs. Orlando at BMO Stadium," the team said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.
The club confirmed that stadium operations verified the venue was secure, allowing guests, staff, players, and crew to depart safely.
"Our medical and safety teams were on site and ready to respond," the team added.

The organization announced it is reviewing the incident with its pyrotechnics vendor to evaluate subsequent steps.
