Geely is set to pilot its new solid-state batteries in several of its brands starting next year, according to a recent report.
The Chinese automaker says the new cells will deliver a power density of up to 500 Wh/kg.

That energy density could enable driving ranges exceeding 621 miles (1,000 km) on a single charge, comparable to diesel-powered vehicles.
Geely also claims the batteries will have a lifespan of up to 621,000 miles (1 million kilometers), addressing concerns about longevity.
Pilot Program and Brand Rollout
The pilot program will involve major Geely brands, including Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, and Smart.

Geely has not confirmed whether mass production will begin next year or if customers will receive these EVs after the pilot phase.
Due to heavy US tariffs on Chinese cars, Geely's solid-state batteries are unlikely to reach the American market.
