The Philadelphia Phillies have traded minor league right-handed pitcher Ryan Degges to the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for $250,000 in international bonus pool money.
The transaction was completed on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

The Phillies immediately used the newly acquired pool space to secure a deal with 17-year-old right-handed pitcher Ho Hua from Taiwan.
The signing bonus is approximately $500,000.

Degges was originally selected by Philadelphia in the 17th round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The 23-year-old pitcher posted a 5.47 ERA and a 1.541 WHIP across 24 2/3 innings in nine minor league appearances this season with Low-A Clearwater and High-A Jersey Shore.
He recently spent time on the seven-day minor league injured list due to a right oblique strain before beginning a rehab assignment with Clearwater in late June.
