Former University of Kentucky men's basketball guard Kerr Kriisa was arrested by FBI agents in Fayette County on the evening of July 3, 2026.
The arrest precedes his planned extradition to West Virginia regarding alleged fraud charges.

According to a report from On3, the 25-year-old player is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center without bail.
Detention center officials confirmed the federal arrest to WKYT but noted that specific details regarding the case and charges cannot be publicly released.
The multimillion-dollar fraud allegations are tied to Kriisa's tenure at West Virginia during the 2023-24 season.
A court hearing concerning the matter has been scheduled for next week, while the FBI's Louisville bureau has not yet publicly disclosed the specific details of the investigation.
Removed from Tournament Roster
Following the arrest, the Kentucky alumni team La Familia announced that Kriisa has been removed from their roster for the upcoming tournament.
The guard was originally scheduled to debut in a series starting July 18 against Louisville's alumni team, The Ville, at Memorial Coliseum.

The organization released an official statement on X addressing the situation. "We're aware of the allegations regarding Kerr Kriisa.
Kerr will not be competing with La Familia during the TBT Tournament. We will have no further comment," the statement read.
Before his arrest, Kriisa had planned to start his professional career in his native country of Estonia after the completion of the tournament.
His collegiate career included playing for Arizona, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Cincinnati over six seasons.
During his 2024-25 season at Kentucky, a foot injury limited him to nine appearances, where he averaged 4.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

He later averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 assists across 19 games during his final collegiate season at Cincinnati.
