Former Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner addressed rumors surrounding his potential return to Formula 1 during an interview with Sky Sports' Craig Slater at Silverstone on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

The 52-year-old made his first appearance in an F1 paddock since being relieved of his duties last year, exactly 48 hours after the previous event at Silverstone.

Horner previously achieved major success with Red Bull, overseeing six constructors' titles and eight world drivers' championships.

Speculation has linked the former boss to potential leadership roles at Aston Martin, Alpine, and Chinese automotive company BYD, which is rumored to be considering a 12th team entry on the grid.

"It's the first time I've been back. It's great to be back here at Silverstone," said Horner.

"Ultimately, I'm a fan so [with] the British Grand Prix in town, I've not missed one since '93 so it's good to be here."

Horner stated that he is currently enjoying his time away from the sport and remains in no rush to secure a new role unless the right competitive opportunity arises.

"Look, I've enjoyed my time out," said Horner.

"I did 20 years straight with the Red Bull guys, I was doing other stuff before that so it's the first time I've ever a bit of time to get off the hamster wheel."

The executive expressed praise for the current state of Formula 1, noting the high level of external interest and strong competition on the track this season.
