Mars Petcare US has issued a voluntary recall for two lots of Pedigree canned dog food after discovering possible contamination with sharp metal and plastic fragments.

The recall, announced on July 2, 2026, affects 13.2-ounce cans of Pedigree High Protein Chopped Chicken & Duck Flavor.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an alert specifying the involved lot codes as 613C3KKCFC and 613C1KKCFC.

According to Mars Petcare US, the company had initially designated these lots for destruction through a third-party vendor.

However, the manufacturer later learned that the items were apparently diverted and sold into the U. S.

marketplace without authorization.
